Summer Scrapbooking: Sketch-Based 12×12 Layout with Gnomes

So as I get back to being creative I had some work to do around the poll I created at the end of July.
I got great feedback on what people wanted to have me create in August and I just could not get my groove on to create any process videos.

Just as a refresher from the Poll results.

  • 12×12 Layouts using Sketches
  • Gnomes for Summer
  • Cheerful Daisy and Of Art & Texture stamp sets

So on this last Friday of the month, my typical YouTube posting day, I really wanted to get at least one video up from that poll. I focused on the sketch and Gnomes for Summer.

I am happy to say that I was able to do that today and that video is now live!

I am really exited about creating sketches and adding them to this page and also creating from my own sketches.

This first sketch is based off a card sketch that was in the SU Annual Catalog. I created a 2 page 12×12 layout from that sketch and then took the CTMH Gnomes for Summer paper and sticker sheet to create this fun summer layout.

I built this sketch in Design Space and it was a bit of trial and error. I realized I did not need to buy images to build the sketch since I was not going to cut out the pieces. Once I got over that hurdle the rest came easily. Layering the items, picking out shapes for embellishments and then flattening it to one layer.

Here is the link to the sketch: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KpimYmdBcw4B8Ch1YJ0Kz1IbdzkA9q8p/view?usp=sharing

Here is the final layout:

I hope this inspires you to try using or creating your own sketch to use in your scrapbooking.

I would love to see what you create from this sketch. Post a picture here or on my Facebook group!

Happy Friday!
