Crafting with Leftovers: Transforming Scraps into Stunning Layouts! 🍂✂️

If you’re anything like me, you know that leftovers aren’t just for the kitchen. In the world of crafting, they can be both a blessing and a challenge. While they save me from the hassle of cooking, they also demand creative storage solutions and a good memory to recall what we have tucked away. That’s why I make it my goal to use up as much of any kit as possible. Not only does this keep my craft space tidy, but it also pushes my creativity to new heights! Craft a Festive Christmas Tree Layout

Hey there, fellow crafters! After a whirlwind of fall adventures, I’m finally back in my creative space, and guess what? My first project was inspired by none other than the festive spirit of Christmas! 🎅🍂 While I adore the rich hues of fall, it was a Christmas Tree layout that truly captured my imagination this time. As I flipped through some inspirational ideas, the thought struck me: why not use the “Take a Bow” bundle to craft a stunning Christmas Tree focal point? Originally designed for those charming old-fashioned gift bows, I saw its potential to transform into something truly…

Embracing New Adventures: A Creative Journey Beyond the Blog

Hello! It’s been a while since my last update, and I wish I could say it’s just been a whirlwind of busyness. The truth is, my creative spark with paper has been a bit elusive lately. Running a blog and a YouTube channel demands consistency to gain traction, but let’s face it—I’m not always that person. My love for creativity is boundless, yet my dyslexic mind doesn’t always sync with strict schedules. This summer and fall have been nothing short of amazing. I’ve spent cherished moments outdoors with my husband and our dogs. We helped our daughter settle into her…

Summer Scrapbooking: Sketch-Based 12×12 Layout with Gnomes

So as I get back to being creative I had some work to do around the poll I created at the end of July. I got great feedback on what people wanted to have me create in August and I just could not get my groove on to create any process videos. Just as a refresher from the Poll results. So on this last Friday of the month, my typical YouTube posting day, I really wanted to get at least one video up from that poll. I focused on the sketch and Gnomes for Summer. I am happy to say…

The summer flew by and all of my plans for being on top of things and be productive only got half way done. I got my youngest settled into her first apartment and starting her sophomore year. The older one heads off the London next week so we will be officially empty nesters. I tried to update my website and it did not go as planned. So I made some new changes to it yesterday. It is not quite the color scheme that I wanted but it will work for now. On the creative side it is time to reset…

CTMH vs. Stampin’ Up! Paper Weights: A Complete Guide

There are always a lot of questions about paper weights for various different paper crafting companies. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen requests for CTMH cardstock weights in my 4+ years of being a Maker. Now that we have moved over to Stampin’ Up! there is even more questions about paper weights because Stampin’s Up! has been predominantly a card making company. In addition the demonstrators tend to make their own card bases out of the colored cardstock verse CTMH used mostly white card bases which be bought individually and came in the card workshops. So…

Ink and Water Fun: Scrapbooking Layout Tutorial | Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin Kit

It’s time to have a little fun with ink, water and acetate! Using water based ink pad or pens on acetate then spritzing with water creates this beautiful wash technique on your pages. Using a paintbrush as well can change how the ink and water react on the acetate. Step 1 is to practice on a scrap piece of white paper. Add the ink to the acetate either using the pens to swipe across the acetate or if using an ink pad taking a paintbrush into the ink and swiping it across the acetate. Once you have the ink down…

My Why…

I started scrapbooking in the late 90’s. I started with my wedding planning, A book I would not recommend starting with. I loved the process of designing a page and putting pictures down on that design. I have always struggled with the stories, mostly because I have really terrible handwriting. I have been scrapbooking off and on over the years as my kids were growing up but it was never consistent. During the pandemic I found that I really wanted to to get creative again with all of the home time and trying to fill that time with more than…
