Something Shiny Is Coming to the Studio ✨

So a big announcement dropped today. I wanted to get the details out about the launch of our new Hot Foil System coming to customers on July 10th! New promotions seem to happen when I do my newsletter early in the month.

Introducing the Stampin’ Hot Foil System 🌟

Stampin’ Up! is launching a brand new Stampin’ Hot Foil System, and it’s available to customers on July 10th. This one is a partnership with Spellbinders, the same company behind our Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, and it’s an improved take on hot foiling. We have it exclusively for a couple of months, so this is a good time to try the new and improved system early.

A few practical notes before we go further:

  • The system requires the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to run. It isn’t warrantied for use with other die cutting machines.
  • The system itself is $160.00 (item 170009), and for a limited time it includes the Metallic Magic Craft Class, a $30 value, at no extra cost
  • Metallic Magic Craft Class is on July 23 at 2:00 p.m. (MT) hosted by Stampin’ Up!
  • It’s compact and lightweight, easy to tuck away in a craft room that’s already full of supplies, which honestly, whose isn’t?
  • It has some nice built in safety features too, including an automatic shutoff and a magnetic power cord that Stampin’ Up! helped design to make it easier to use.

What Makes This Launch Different 💛

Here’s the part I think is genuinely worth paying attention to. Instead of just offering the foiling dies on their own, Stampin’ Up! built out full bundles that pair the foil dies with coordinating stamp sets, cutting dies, and even decorative stencils in some cases. That means you’re not just adding shine to a project, you’re getting a more complete project kit in one purchase.

Some of the bundles include:

  • Botanical Glow – a single stamp paired with an intricate leaf and branch foil die
  • Shimmering Scenes – layered scenic stamps with coordinating foil and cutting dies
  • Echoes of Detail – a textural stamp set with foil dies to match
  • Butterfly Flight – decorative masks and dies for dimensional foiled butterflies
  • Flourish & Frames – a large stamp set with an extensive set of foil and cutting dies
  • Sweetly Sentimental – sentiment focused stamps with matching foil dies

All bundles come with a 10% savings compared to purchasing the pieces separately. There are also standalone foil dies available, like Garden Silhouette, Classic Greetings, Luxe Alphabet & Numbers, and Swiss Dots, plus foil rolls in gold, silver, and light pink if you just want to start experimenting.

And here’s the detail I think matters most if you’re on the fence: the foil dies themselves work in other foiling systems too. So if you already own a hot foiling machine from another brand, you can still use these new bundles and dies. This launch isn’t just for people buying the new system, it’s for anyone who loves the look of foil and wants some fresh designs to work with.

I haven’t gotten my hands on the system just yet, so rather than show you my own project this month, I want to point you to Stampin’ Up!’s own demo of how it works. It’s a genuinely simple process, plug in the platform, build your foiling sandwich, run it through the Cut & Emboss Machine, then peel and reveal.

Should I Add This to the Studio? 🤔

I’ll be honest, I don’t have any hot foiling system in my craft room right now, so this would be a completely new category for me. I already have two other die cutting machines in my studio, so getting set up for this would mean adding a third machine, one I’d dedicate just to foiling. That’s a real investment before I even get to the foil dies and bundles themselves, so before I make that decision, I’d love to know if this is something you’d want to see me work with.

Let me know in the comments: would you like to see me pick up the Hot Foil System and start sharing my own foiled projects?

✂️ The Golden Scissors Membership

Inside The Golden Scissors, I share projects designed by my upline, Susan, that go beyond what I post on my public channel. Members get access to those projects by joining the membership. I’m still deciding whether foiling will make its way into the membership right away, that depends on whether I add the system to my studio, but it’s the kind of technique that could fit well down the road.

It’s $4.99/month, and you can cancel anytime.

Foiling is new territory for me too, so I’m curious: have you ever tried hot foiling before, on any system? And would you want to see me pick this one up and share my results? Let me know in the comments, your input genuinely helps me decide what to invest in next for the studio.

See you in the Studio, Liz
