Happy October, everyone! Can you believe it? September flew by, and I’ll be honest, I wasn’t feeling fall for most of it. Funny enough, I still ended up making some of my favorite holiday-themed layouts of the year. Let’s catch up!
A First Trip to Tucson 🌵
I got to visit Arizona, Tucson specifically for the very first time. I stayed at the Westin, and the grounds were wonderful representation of the desert, with the mountains rising up behind the hotel. The sunsets were something else. I kept stopping just to look at the sky.
It’s such a different kind of natural beauty from what I’m used to, and I came home wanting to see more. I’m already dreaming about going back to explore, and I’d love to plan a trip to New Mexico for the hot air balloon festival in Oct next year. Doesn’t that sound amazing?

Trips like this are exactly what I want in my scrapbooks. Not just the big landmarks, but the sunsets and the views from the hotel window.
What I Made in September 🎃🎄
Witchy Hat Kit Live
I hosted a live to put together the witch’s hat, and it was a lot of fun. Paper flowers, a spiderweb rosette with a “31” in the center, a black cat tag, and a little string of lights tucked in for some glow. It makes a great Halloween piece for a mantel or a table.

Stop Throwing Away Your Scraps! Try Iris Paper Piecing
If you’ve got a stash of paper scraps you can’t bring yourself to toss, this one is for you. Iris paper piecing turns small strips into a swirl of color, and the results look much fancier than the effort it takes. I made a few layouts and cards with it, including ornaments with gold foil paper, hot air balloons in pink and orange, and a Christmas ornament card alongside a Halloween bat card.

Stash Busting Layout
After the iris project, I still had a pile of leftover paper pieces, so I used them for a two-page layout with a greenery theme and ornament letters. Nothing went to waste, and I love how it turned out.

A One-Off Bridal Shower Card
I also made a “Celebrate” card for a bridal shower using the Eyelet Die POTM and the Border in Beauty Dies. It’s a nice reminder to use the dies you have in your stash to create something new..

October Is a Holiday Card Month 🎄
I’m getting ready for my card buffet in November and December, so you’ll see a lot more holiday cards on YouTube this month. If you like to get ahead on your Christmas cards, now is a great time to start along with me.
New Kits Arrive October 6th
On October 6th, two new card kits and a new Paper Pumpkin kit come out. Think of them as a sneak peek at the cards we’ll be making for the buffet.

Festive Plaid makes 10 tags and 10 cards, with classic red, green, navy, and gold plaid papers, holly, and a plaid tree. It’s $28. If you love a traditional Christmas look, this one is for you.

Christmas Companions is the playful one: dogs and cats in cozy sweaters, decorating the tree and opening presents. It makes 10 cards and is $24. I can’t look at that dog on top of the Dalmatian without smiling.

The new Paper Pumpkin kit is Noel Greetings, and it coordinates with the Neutral Noel collection. The soft greens, kraft tones, and berries give it a calm, elegant feel.
