Happy August, everyone! We’re heading into the second half of the year, and I’ve got a lot to share, two new YouTube videos, a couple of fun new kits, a paper special, Last Chance Refresh and a new Product of the Month. Let’s get into it.

That’s a Wrap on July 🎬

Between a low key birthday at the end of July (dinner from my husband, cakes from my daughter, a quiet weeknight, exactly what I wanted) and getting back into the craft room, I managed to get two new videos up.

Stash and Sketch Challenge: Using Up Leftovers

For this one, I dug through my leftovers from the Life in Bloom workshop, papers and stickers I had left over after finishing those layouts, and used them to recreate July’s month’s sketch over in The Stash and Sketch Challenge Facebook group. If you’ve got a stash of leftover bits from past kits or workshops, this is a good reminder that they still have plenty of life left in them. You can still post on the Facebook Group if you want to join in on the July challenge.

Silly Ole Bear 6×8 Mini Album Walkthrough

This one is a finished album walkthrough, I take you through the completed 6×8 mini album I put together using the Silly Old Bear DSP and dies that come as part of the bundle, page by page. I also created coordinating 6×8 Cricut pages that fit right into the album, along with print then cut sayings.

I made this one for my nephew’s new baby, and it’s a great project to see if you’re curious about a smaller album format and want a look at how the dies work with the DSP to build out the embellishments.

Want the cut file? It’s available on the Workshop page of my website for $13. You can also get it for free by placing a minimum $50 order on my shopping site.

New Stampin’ Up Kits Releasing August 4th: The Witch’s Hat 🎃

This one is different from anything SU has done before. Starting August 4th, Stampin’ Up is releasing two new kits, one is decorating a wearable witch’s hat! Not a paper hat, a real one you can wear on Halloween, decked out with layered flowers, stars, banners, and all the little details you’d expect from a project like this.

I expect this one to sell out well before October, so if you want to make it, here’s what to do:

Or

Head over to my shopping site and order it yourself on Aug. 4th

August Product of the Month: Glow of Harvest 🍂

The August Product of the Month is Glow of Harvest, a 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper, and I have to say, I love these fall papers. The pack includes 12 sheets, two each of six single sided designs, and the tighter patterns make excellent backgrounds for cards or layouts.

There’s a pearlized finish that adds a lovely shimmer to every page, and it’s acid and lignin free, so it’s photo safe if you want to use it in a scrapbook.

The color palette is Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Golden Glow, and Pecan Pie, all warm, cozy fall tones.

How to get it: Glow of Harvest is $5.00 with a $75 order, available starting August 4th.

The Stash and Sketch Challenge: Easy Easel Card ✂️

This month’s sketch over in The Stash and Sketch Challenge Facebook group is the Easy Easel Card. It’s a fun format if you haven’t tried an easel style card before, plenty of room to play with different papers and layouts. Post your finished card in the group, list out the products you used so others can find them, and you’ll be entered into the random draw for a $5 Stampin’ Rewards prize. Make more than one and each one counts as a separate entry.

Not in the group yet? Come join us, it’s free and open to everyone.

✂️ The Golden Scissors Membership

If you’re not already a member of The Golden Scissors, this is a good time to check it out. My upline Susan shares projects each month that I can’t post on my public channel, so it’s exclusive content just for members.
